The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI)
AIPPI ASEAN Regional Meeting 2016 “Changing IPR Dynamics in ASEAN”

03 March 2016: Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Hotel & Residence, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This is a one day meeting to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are very pleased to have our Intellectual Property (IP) partners Khun Kallayarat Chinsrivongkul and Khun Pavinee Bunyamissara as panelists during this AIPPI ASEAN Regional Meeting 2016 in Kuala Lumpur.

This is a very important event on the IP events calendar and to be invited by AIPPI to be involved with the discussion is a great privilege and honour. There will be some very interesting topics that will be discussed in this one day event. The other panelists at this event come from various prominent firms in this region.

Our partner, Khun Pavinee Bunyamissara, will be the first from our firm to speak, and she will be a panelist in a discussion on “unfair advantage of trademarks: parasitism and free riding”. Khun Pavinee will be sharing the current situation in Thailand and what measures and actions are available to aggrieved parties.

The next discussion will involve our patent expert and IP partner, Khun Kallayarat Chinsrivongkul,  and will be on the subject of “Inventership of Multinational Inventions”. Khun Kallayarat will also be a panelist among some very prominent peers in this region. This will indeed be an excellent discussion on the subject matter.

Besides the above two topics, some other important aspects that will be talked about are “ASEAN Economic Corporation – Opportunities and Challenges in the Next 10 years” and “The Impact of Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) in ASEAN”, just to name a couple.

The subjects being discussed in this very intense one day seminar in Kuala Lumpur are very interesting and serious issues that need to be addressed and discussed. With the current implementation of ASEAN, this is a great way to showcase our firm’s expertise and capabilities on these issues. We are very proud to be represented at this very important and exciting event.

This achievement should be recognised, so very well done to our IP partners in being panelists at the AIPPI ASEAN Regional Meeting 2016 in Kuala Lumpur.
